A May 2013 Yelp reviewer said, "Riverview isn't just closed . . . it's been wiped off the face of the planet! I was so in shock when I saw it bulldozed that I had to pull over on the on-ramp to take a couple pictures. I mean, where there had been a course with little hills and valleys and ponds and . . . just gone. Leveled!"

A gem of a course, while 9 holes, it's one that is worth playing twice in one day. It's a tragedy that the short-sided City of Mesa will be tearing it up to build a water park: the last thing needed in this area is more concrete.

I LOVE GOLF, when I pay ANY amount @ other courses I always look for reasons to come back. They make it hard to find the reasons, but I return, mostly because they are the closest course. Unfortunately, at Riverview, they make me feel UNWELCOME!!!! It's just an average 9 hole course, with average upkeep, but they treat it as if they were protecting a PGA Masters course from the public players who want to step on their grass.
The "ONLY" reason I keep coming back is do to the fact I live right down the street. They don't even take the care of the course over-ALL as they should!!!
Despite the negatives, I really DO like this course. I guess I have mixed emotions. It's their attitude that's the turn off. I wish they had SOME kind of insintive for people to look 4-ward to playing and feeling welcome and appreciated!!!! Like a raffle for free balls on the range, or a free round.....something along the lines of a members card, with every 5-10 rounds played recieve a free round!!!! I passed the ranger the other day stopping a 4-some NO YOUNGER than 70 years old to check if they had they're proof of purchase!!! W-T-H is that???
All-in-All, I kind of like this course....MAINLY for the convenience!!!! When I move just 5 miles away, you better bet your ass I will NOT return unless they make some changes with how they run things!!!!! Thanks for your time!!!
